The
bulkheads are used as a mold to laminate two layers
of 3/4" x 2" cedar for the sheer clamps. The sheer
clamps are removed for shaping and sanding and then
can be set into notches cut in the bulkheads at the
proper sheer height.
|

|
With
the sheer clamps in place the side panels can be
stitched on, and all panels tabbed in place. All the
joints (including scarf joints) are ground down and
shaped. A 4" layer of biax cloth covered with a 6"
layer of 8 oz. woven cloth are applied to all the
corners and joints.
|

|
The hull is sheathed
with a layer of Dynel, and the keel is dry fit in
place. |

|
Roll over.
|

|
Longitudinals are added
and the foredeck bracing is installed.
|

|
After the aft cabin and aft cockpit bulkheads are
installed, the angles can be cut in the bulkheads
for the sidedecks. The sidedecks are also shaped and
glassed with a layer of biax and 8 oz. cloth around
the sheer.
|

|
The cabin is glassed with
biax and weave on all corners. The cabin roof, all
decks, cockpit sole and cockpit seating is covered
with a layer of Dynel. It will then take 2 to 4
coats of epoxy to fill all the cloth and properly
seal the wood prior to primer. A two part epoxy
primer is sprayed on.
|

|
Painting is finished and exterior brightwork and
hardware can be installed.
