Bulkheads are installed on the strong back and the cockpit sloe is lofted out. The piece to the left being lofted will serve a mold when making the transom.

Motor well longitudinals are added and the "transom mold is screwed to them. The bottom panels are set on the bulkheads.

The side panels are stitched to the bottom panels and the bow is clamped together. Because the side panels are close to a 90 degree angle to the bottom panels, they were actually screwed on and not stitched which makes it easy. On the bow I simply ran screws through the two panels and then pulled the clamps. I kept the screws as far forward as possible and glassed the inside of the stem and then pulled the screws. The lofted side panels only go to the last bulkhead and layers of 1/4" plywood are cold molded to make the rounded stern. I epoxied the 1/4" plywood pieces together, but not to the rest of the boat so I could pull the stern off to shape it. When I did glue it to the boat I did not glue it to the transom mold, that needs to be pulled out later to glass the stern compartments.

The stern piece is only attached to the side panels with a but joint at this point, so routed out the wood 4" on each side of the joint and 1/4" deep and added a piece of 1/4" plywood in the area to add strength to the joint.

I used the boat as a mold to glue up two layers of 1/2" plywood to make a gunnel. Around the stern I used 4 layers of 1/4" plywood. The gunnel got a 45 degree shaping and the side and stern pieces were joined with a simple lap scarf joint.

The hull is sheathed in Dynel.

After roll-over the rest of the bulkheads and longitudinals are installed and trimmed. Cleats are installed and epoxy sealing is done to all compartments. All flats can then be installed and glassed.

The pilothouse is roughed in after the fore deck has been installed.

The pilothouse is trimmed and glassed at all joints and the pilothouse roof and bulwarks are installed and glassed. The hull and superstructure are completed and all surfaces are epoxy sealed. Dynel was applied to all decks and cockpit flats prior to sealing as well.

The two Godzilli boats were launched in the spring of 2005.
